Connect SimpleSAT to Scopable
Create a scoped SimpleSAT API key, connect it to Scopable, verify the five required read permissions, and prepare customer feedback for client mapping.
Prerequisites
- Owner or Admin access in SimpleSAT
- A Scopable account with permission to manage integrations
- Existing SimpleSAT surveys and customer feedback to sync
Scopable uses a read-only SimpleSAT connection. It reads surveys, questions, customers, responses, and answers so mapped clients can show CSAT and NPS context. It does not send surveys, update customers, or write feedback back to SimpleSAT.
The setup takes about five minutes. Keep the new API key open until you have saved it in Scopable because SimpleSAT shows the full secret only once.
Step 1: Open API keys in SimpleSAT
- Sign in to SimpleSAT as an Owner or Admin.
- Select the Admin gear in the lower-left corner.
- Select API keys from the Admin menu.

Only SimpleSAT Owners and Admins can manage API keys. If API keys is missing, ask a SimpleSAT Owner or Admin to complete these steps.
Step 2: Create a dedicated API key
- On the API keys page, select + New API key in the upper-right corner.

- Enter a clear name such as Scopable production. A dedicated key lets you rotate or revoke Scopable access without interrupting another integration.
Step 3: Choose permissions
- Select Custom.
- Grant these five read permissions:
- Read responses
- Read answers
- Read customers
- Read surveys
- Read questions
- Select Create API key.

The screenshot shows Full access selected. Use Custom with the five read permissions above when those controls are available. Full access also works, but it grants current and future SimpleSAT scopes that Scopable does not need.
Step 4: Copy the key before closing the dialog
- Select Copy.
- Keep the key in a password manager or secrets manager until it is saved in Scopable.
- Do not close this dialog until the copy is complete.

SimpleSAT cannot show or recover the full key later. If the key is lost, create a replacement and delete the unused key.
Step 5: Connect SimpleSAT in Scopable
- Sign in to Scopable with permission to manage integrations.
- Open Integrations from the Administration navigation.
- Select SimpleSAT. You can also open the SimpleSAT integration directly.
- Paste the new key into API key.
- Select Test key.
- Confirm that Scopable reports five successful read-scope checks.
- Select Save & connect.
- Confirm that the status changes to Connected.
Scopable tests the key before storing it. After a successful test, the secret is stored in the tenant's secure vault. The browser receives only a redacted key hint and connection status.
Step 6: Confirm sync and client mapping
SimpleSAT feedback must be synced and mapped before it appears on a client dashboard.
- Scopable starts the first feedback sync after Save & connect finishes.
- On the connected SimpleSAT card, confirm Last sync has a value and no error is shown.
- If the first sync was interrupted or you want to refresh now, select Sync now. Scopable also refreshes connected SimpleSAT tenants every hour.
- Open Mappings in Scopable.
- Review the SimpleSAT customer matches.
- Confirm each SimpleSAT customer against the correct Scopable client.
- Open the mapped client's dashboard and check the CSAT / NPS card.
A connected key without a confirmed client mapping does not attach feedback to a client. A mapped client with no synced responses shows a no-data state rather than a zero score.
Verify the connection later
Open Integrations → SimpleSAT and select Test. Scopable checks the saved key against the same five read surfaces. Use Rotate key to replace the credential without disconnecting first.
Troubleshooting
SimpleSAT rejected the API key
- Create a new dedicated key and copy the full value before closing the SimpleSAT dialog.
- Remove any leading or trailing spaces when pasting.
- Confirm the key is active on the SimpleSAT API keys page.
The key is missing a required scope
Edit the key in SimpleSAT and grant read access to responses, answers, customers, surveys, and questions. Permission changes take effect immediately. Then return to Scopable and select Test key again.
The connection test was rate-limited
Wait one minute and retry. SimpleSAT applies an account-level request limit and returns a retry window when it is exceeded.
The connection is healthy but no client feedback appears
- Confirm a response sync completed after the key was saved.
- Confirm the SimpleSAT customer is mapped to the correct Scopable client.
- Confirm the mapped customer has CSAT or NPS responses in SimpleSAT.
- Check the SimpleSAT card for a recent sync error.
The key was lost
SimpleSAT cannot recover it. Create a new key, use Rotate key in Scopable, test and save the replacement, then delete the old SimpleSAT key after the new connection succeeds.
