Select a Quote Designer Template for a Quote

A tenant default keeps normal quoting simple. Quote-level selection lets you use another saved template when a particular proposal needs a different presentation.

Understand the selection order

Scopable resolves the layout in this order:

1. Quote-specific template: if the saved quote names a Quote Designer template, Scopable uses it.
2. Tenant default template: if the quote does not name a template, Scopable uses the tenant default.

The selector calls the fallback Tenant default template. Choosing that option removes the quote-specific selection. It does not copy the current default onto the quote.

This distinction matters when the default changes. A quote set to Tenant default template follows the tenant default at render time. A quote with a named template continues to use that selected template.

Choose a template

1. Open or create the quote in Quote Wizard.
2. Save the quote. The template selector appears only after the quote has an ID.
3. In the review area, find Quote Designer template.
4. Choose a saved template, or choose Tenant default template.
5. Wait for the confirmation message before leaving the quote.

The selector marks the tenant default with (Default), but selecting that named row is still an explicit quote-level selection. Choose Tenant default template when you want the quote to follow whichever template is the tenant default later.

Verify client-facing output

Before sending an important quote:

1. Review the quote data and selected template.
2. Generate or open the PDF.
3. Check the public quote view if the quote has been shared.
4. Confirm the logo, colors, page order, line-item columns, totals, terms, and closing content.

The Quote Designer layout is shared across the client-facing quote and generated PDF. The quote's live data still comes from the quote itself.

Decide when to use an explicit template

Use a quote-specific template when the presentation is intentionally different, such as a project proposal versus a recurring-services agreement. Use the tenant default when the same standard presentation should follow normal tenant-wide updates.

Avoid using template selection as a substitute for editing quote content. Change scope, line items, terms, or other quote-owned information in the quote workflow, then use Quote Designer to control presentation.

If templates cannot be loaded

The selector shows an error and keeps the tenant-default fallback when the template list cannot load. Do not assume a different named template was saved. Retry after the connection recovers and verify the selection before sending.
