Troubleshoot Quote Designer
Resolve Quote Designer access, template loading, save, preview PDF, branding, layout, and quote-output problems.
Start by recording the template name, affected quote, exact action, time of the problem, and whether the editor, public quote, or PDF is affected. That makes it easier to separate a template problem from a quote-data or connection problem.
I cannot open Quote Designer
Quote Designer is under Settings and requires permission to manage tenant settings. Confirm that you are signed into the intended tenant with a tenant-admin account.
If another authorized administrator can open it, ask your Scopable account administrator to review your role. If no authorized administrator can open it, contact Scopable support.
The template gallery does not load
Select Retry template list. If the list still fails:
- Confirm that the rest of Scopable is reachable.
- Refresh the page once.
- Avoid creating a replacement template until the existing list is visible. A loading failure does not mean the templates were deleted.
A template will not save
Keep the editor open and retry Save template after checking your connection. The Unsaved template changes badge tells you the current editor state still differs from the saved template.
If the save keeps failing, copy any new static text to a safe local note before refreshing. Record the template name and error message for support.
Preview PDF does not open
Select Preview PDF again and allow the new tab if the browser blocked it. The preview uses sample data and can fail independently of saving.
If Scopable reports that preview is temporarily unavailable, save the template if possible, wait briefly, and retry. Do not make the template the tenant default until you have reviewed a generated PDF.
The wrong template appears on a quote
Open the saved quote and check Quote Designer template.
- A named template is an explicit selection for that quote.
- Tenant default template follows the current tenant default.
Confirm the selected template still exists and that the expected gallery card carries the Default badge. Then regenerate the PDF or reload the client-facing quote.
See Select a Quote Designer template for a quote for the full fallback behavior.
The logo or colors are wrong
Return to the Quote Designer gallery. Confirm the tenant logo and saved quote colors first, then open the template and check the selected block or section color token.
Tenant branding and template-level presentation work together. Save changed colors separately with Save colors, then preview the template again.
Text is clipped or overlaps
Test the layout with longer sample values and a representative live quote.
- On the cover or closing page, select the block and increase its width or height, move it, or reduce its font size.
- In quote content, avoid treating a flowing section like a fixed block. Reorder sections or add a page break when the document needs a deliberate split.
- Check line-item columns with realistic descriptions and quantities.
Preview the PDF after every structural change.
Quote content is missing or incorrect
Quote Designer controls presentation. Bound fields and quote-content sections read from the saved quote and tenant settings.
- Confirm the source value exists in the quote.
- Confirm the relevant section or bound block is visible in the template.
- Save the quote and the template.
- Regenerate the output.
Edit quote-owned content in Quote Wizard. Edit shared terms or next-steps copy in the designer's document controls or the corresponding tenant settings.
The template selector is missing
Save the quote first. The Quote Designer template selector appears only after the quote has been created and has an ID.
If the quote is saved and the selector is still missing, refresh the quote and confirm you are in the intended tenant.
A template was deleted
Template deletion cannot be undone in the Quote Designer interface. Select another saved template or create a replacement, then set a suitable tenant default and review affected active quotes.
