Manage Co-Work Conversations and Background Runs
Start, find, rename, archive, and delete Co-Work conversations while active responses continue when you move between chats.
Prerequisites
- Access to Co-Work in Scopable
Co-Work keeps conversations in a sidebar so you can move between client questions and other work without losing the thread. If a response is still running when you switch chats, it continues on the server and the sidebar shows its current status.
A background run is an active response that continues after you move to another conversation. It is not a scheduled or unattended automation.
Start a conversation
Select New Chat to open a separate conversation. Give each conversation one clear purpose so its context remains easy to review.
Conversations are not permanently bound to a quote or client. Co-Work can use the page and client context available when you work, but you should still name the client or record when a request could be ambiguous.
Find an existing conversation
Use Search chats to filter the sidebar. Conversations are grouped by recency so current work stays near the top.
Each conversation row includes a live status indicator. Status can show that the chat is idle, responding, stalled, waiting for your answer, done, or in an error state.
Switch chats while Co-Work is responding
You can open another conversation while a response is running. The original response continues, and its sidebar status updates as work progresses.
Return to the conversation before acting on its result. A completed response can still contain a confirmation request, a question, or an error that needs your attention.
Respond when a chat needs an answer
Needs answer means Co-Work is waiting for your input, such as confirmation for an action or an answer needed to continue a plan. Open the conversation, review the request, and respond there.
Co-Work does not treat silence as approval for an action that needs confirmation.
Rename a conversation
Open the conversation menu and choose Rename. Use a short title that identifies the client, record, or intended outcome, such as Contoso renewal options or Review QBR findings.
Archive or delete a conversation
- Archive removes the conversation from the active list without immediately deleting it. Use Undo when you archived it by mistake.
- Delete permanently removes the conversation. Review the confirmation before continuing.
Archive completed or inactive work when you may need its history. Delete only when the conversation should not be retained.
Troubleshooting
A response says it is stalled
Open the conversation and review the latest message. The run may be waiting on a provider, tool, or recoverable connection. Retry only after checking whether the prior action completed.
A conversation says it needs an answer
Open it and respond to the pending question or confirmation. Switching back to the chat does not approve the action by itself.
A response finished after I changed pages
This is expected. Active responses continue on the server when you move between chats or pages. Open the original conversation to review the result and its context.
Search does not find a conversation
Try a word from the conversation title. If it was archived, it will not appear in the active list. If it was deleted, it cannot be restored from the sidebar.
