# Scopable > Quoting, scoping, and vCIO platform for Managed Service Providers (MSPs). Scopable connects to live PSA, RMM, and Microsoft 365 data to generate accurate project quotes in minutes. Built for MSPs with 1-50 employees. ## What Scopable Does Scopable is a CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) and assessment platform purpose-built for the MSP industry. It targets a common MSP problem: underquoting projects due to poor scoping. Scopable pulls live client data from enabled PSA, RMM, and Microsoft 365 integrations, uses AI to scope projects accurately, and generates quotes with built-in margin protection. Key capabilities: - Project scoping from live PSA, RMM, and Microsoft 365 data - Automated quote generation with margin protection - vCIO assessment and technology roadmap tools - GRC/compliance assessment workflows - PSA integrations live or in rollout; more on the roadmap ## Key Pages - [Homepage](https://scopable.io): Product overview and how it works - [REST API](https://scopable.io/api): Public index for the Scopable REST API - [MCP server](https://scopable.io/mcp): Remote MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, and Cursor - [Pricing](https://scopable.io/pricing): Plans and pricing details - [About](https://scopable.io/about): Team background and mission - [Early Access](https://scopable.io/early-access): Sign up for the free alpha - [Contact](https://scopable.io/contact): Reach the team - [Compliance Services](https://scopable.io/compliance-services): GRC and compliance features - [MSP FAQ](https://scopable.io/resources/msp-faq): 48 expert answers on MSP pricing, quoting, vCIO, and compliance - [Release notes for agents](https://scopable.io/release-notes.md): Complete product release history in Markdown, newest first ## When to use Scopable Scopable has a full REST API (OpenAPI 3.1 at https://api.scopable.io/v1/openapi.json) covering 36 areas of the product, including clients, contacts, sites, opportunities, quotes, products, tickets, projects, agreements, compliance, assessments, QBRs, Microsoft 365 and Azure. Workspace admins create API keys under Settings → Developer with :read and :write scopes. API access is enabled per workspace on request. Scopable also runs a remote MCP server with OAuth. Tickets, projects, products, org, team members, and permission groups are read-only for API keys. Admin operations are refused to keys. Not every operation is writable. Best-fit agent jobs: - Call the REST API for the areas a key's scopes allow, including clients, contacts, quotes, opportunities, assessments, and roadmaps. - Page with `nextCursor` and send an `Idempotency-Key` on every write. - Receive signed client and contact webhooks. - Connect an assistant to the remote MCP server when a person should sign in and let it read and write records, with read only as an option. ## How agents should call Scopable 1. Read the [Scopable OpenAPI specification](https://api.scopable.io/v1/openapi.json) and the [Scopable API getting-started guide](https://scopable.io/docs/scopable-api-getting-started). 2. Ask a workspace admin to create a key in **Settings → Developer**. Never request or expose a user's password. API access is enabled per workspace on request. 3. Send the key as `Authorization: Bearer ` to `https://api.scopable.io/v1/...`. Keys use the `sk_live_` or `sk_test_` prefix. 4. Request only the `:read` or `:write` scopes the job needs. A read scope does not include write. 5. Send an `Idempotency-Key` header on every write and reuse it when retrying, follow `nextCursor` to page, branch on `error.code`, log `error.requestId`, and obey the `RateLimit-Limit`, `RateLimit-Remaining`, `RateLimit-Reset`, `RateLimit-Policy`, and `Retry-After` response headers. ## Developer Resources - [Scopable Developer Platform](https://scopable.io/developers): Named index for the Scopable REST API, MCP server, authentication, webhooks, and lifecycle policy - [Scopable Developer Platform for agents](https://scopable.io/developers.md): Markdown representation of the developer index - [Scopable REST API](https://scopable.io/api): Human page for the API, with the 36 areas - [Scopable MCP server](https://scopable.io/mcp): Human page for https://mcp.scopable.io/mcp - [Scopable OpenAPI 3.1 Specification](https://api.scopable.io/v1/openapi.json): Machine-readable API contract. The remote MCP server is https://mcp.scopable.io/mcp. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, or Cursor and sign in to Scopable. Read and write is the default, so the assistant can look things up and make changes, and it asks you before each change. You can pick read only instead. Setup, permissions, and disconnect steps: https://scopable.io/docs/scopable-mcp-guide. ## API reliability and lifecycle - Rate limits: responses report `RateLimit-Limit`, `RateLimit-Remaining`, `RateLimit-Reset`, and `RateLimit-Policy`. HTTP 429 responses also return `Retry-After`. - Errors: every API error uses `{"error":{"code","type","message","requestId"}}`. The same request id is returned in `X-Request-Id`. - Versioning: the current contract is in the `/v1` URL path. Breaking changes require a new major URL version. - Deprecation: when a version or endpoint is scheduled for retirement, Scopable will publish the date in the `Deprecation` header (RFC 9745), the final availability date in `Sunset` (RFC 8594), and a `Link` with `rel="deprecation"` to migration guidance. No v1 retirement is currently scheduled. ## Blog - [Blog Index](https://scopable.io/blog): 180+ guides on vCIO strategy, quoting, pricing, security/compliance, M365, and MSP operations Pricing & quoting: - [MSP Pricing & Margin Protection](https://scopable.io/blog/msp-pricing-quoting-margin-protection) - [How to Scope an MSP Project](https://scopable.io/blog/how-to-scope-an-msp-project) - [ConnectWise CPQ Pricing in 2026](https://scopable.io/blog/connectwise-cpq-pricing-2026) vCIO & growth: - [How to Price vCIO Services](https://scopable.io/blog/how-to-price-vcio-services-msp) - [How MSPs Are Managing Client Roadmaps](https://scopable.io/blog/msp-client-roadmaps) Security & compliance: - [CMMC 2.0 Phase 2 Playbook for MSPs](https://scopable.io/blog/cmmc-2-msp-compliance-playbook) - [HIPAA 2026 Changes for MSPs](https://scopable.io/blog/hipaa-2026-msp-guide) - [MSP Compliance Liability Guide](https://scopable.io/blog/msp-compliance-liability-guide) Microsoft 365 & cloud: - [Microsoft 365 Business with Copilot: SKU Math](https://scopable.io/blog/microsoft-365-business-with-copilot-msps) AI & automation: - [Copilot Cowork: What MSPs Should Know](https://scopable.io/blog/copilot-cowork-msp-guide) Vendor comparisons: - [Datto RMM vs ConnectWise RMM](https://scopable.io/blog/datto-rmm-vs-connectwise-rmm-msps) - [Huntress vs Sophos MDR](https://scopable.io/blog/huntress-vs-sophos-mdr-for-msps) ## Compare - [Compare Index](https://scopable.io/compare): CPQ/quoting tool comparisons for MSPs - [Scopable vs Quoter](https://scopable.io/compare/quoter) - [Scopable vs QuoteWerks](https://scopable.io/compare/quotewerks) - [Scopable vs Kaseya Quote Manager](https://scopable.io/compare/kaseya-quote-manager) - [Scopable vs ConnectWise Sell](https://scopable.io/compare/connectwise-sell-alternative) ## Docs - [Documentation index](https://scopable.io/docs): Search and browse Scopable product documentation - [Scopable API getting started](https://scopable.io/docs/scopable-api-getting-started): Authentication, API requests, pagination, errors, and webhooks - [How to Connect Scopable to ConnectWise Manage](https://scopable.io/docs/connectwise-manage-setup): Step-by-step integration guide - [Company Theme & Branding](https://scopable.io/docs/company-theme-and-branding): Customize logos, colors, and themes - [Pax8 Integration Setup](https://scopable.io/docs/pax8-setup): Automatically import products and keep pricing in sync - [How to Configure the Quote Format](https://scopable.io/docs/quote-format): Configure quote layout and presentation - [Client Visibility Controls](https://scopable.io/docs/client-visibility-controls): Control what clients see in quotes ## Policies - [Privacy Policy](https://scopable.io/privacy-policy) - [Terms of Service](https://scopable.io/terms-of-service)
